How do I transfer my website from The Web Guys?

The Web Guys currently use the same Hosting Platform as us, making transfers super-easy. However, the last few requests that Clients made to transfer their services from The Web Guys to CloudHost.One took a couple of weeks to be actioned.

You will need to email their support address and request that they transfer your Hosting Package to us (contact us for the details needed) and we’ll take care of the rest. Your hosting package is transferred to our control as-is, and we’ll issue you a new login to access it (if you had access to this before it will be much the same, just rebranded). Your website, email and any databases are unchanged.

There are a couple of additional steps that may be necessary, depending on the services you had with them.

1. We suggest changing the WordPress login. If you are taking a managed WordPress service with us, we will do this for you. If you need help with this, please let us know.
2. If you have an older site with them the Theme and Builder are likely unlicensed (despite what the T&Cs say) and this can pose a security threat. Several people contacted us about this previously, so we have purchased Jupiter (the Theme used historically on all sites) and will update this for you if needed.
3. If you are taking a managed WordPress service with us, we will install and configure our security tools on the site for you, and check the site for any other updates or vulnerabilities. If you are taking a basic (self-managed) hosting plan but want these checks made, please let us know.
