Website Design

We specialise in building efficient websites using WordPress. We have a range of ‘off the shelf’ website packages but are always happy to discuss individual needs to ensure you get the functionality you need at a price you can afford.

All our websites are ‘responsive’, meaning that they will work on any device – desktop, laptop, tablet or phone.

WordPress is the most popular Content Management System for building websites, making it easier to update the site as your business changes and grows, ensuring that you look the best that you can online at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get?

We’ll build you a new website, based on the WordPress platform. The website is yours and does not include any advertising. It will reflect your business, brand or organisation; including your logo and colour-schemes.

Some of the packages include hosting and email, and we’ll make sure that the site and hosting are optimised to run as smoothly as possible. If you don’t already have a domain name we can purchase one on your behalf, and will register it in your name.

What do you need from me?

We’ll need any information that you want to appear on the site, and an idea of how you want it to look. Logos, photos and artwork are a good place to start, along with any other information you already have. We can also convert existing sites.

Who owns the site?

You do. And the domain if we register one for you. This is important to us and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

How long will it take to create my site?

This really depends on how organised you are, as much as on how busy we are.

We’ll obviously need information from you to create your site, in particular the text that is to go on it.  Basic and Starter sites are often available in a draft form within 2-3 days, whereas you are usually looking at a week or two for Standard.

If you have a deadline to work to then let us know in advance and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s achievable. If we can’t do it, we’ll try to help find a trusted Company that can.

What  if something needs changing?

Firstly, let us know. We’ll always provide a window for changes when a site is first setup, and some of our maintenance packages included dedicated time for changes, revisions and updates – these are entirely optional by the way, but highly recommended.

If there isn’t anything in place to cover the cost and time of making changes we’ll provide a quote or in some cases give you guidance and training on how to make the changes yourself.

Payment and other Costs

We don’t think it’s right that some providers advertise a price and keep quiet about some of the ‘extra’s, so here’s some important information…

  • Firstly, we’re not current VAT registered, so all the prices you see from us are the real prices that will be charged.
  • We don’t want to charge more than necessary, so the above prices are based on the standard expected build time for sites of those sizes. It may be that your site is simpler, in which case the price would be adjusted to reflect that. Equally, if your site is significantly more complex than estimates we may need to discus an additional charge. Additional costs would always be discussed in advance.
  • You will need a Domain Name for others to be able to view or access your site. We can arrange this for you, with prices from just £10 a year.
  • You will also need Hosting for the site: this essentially means paying for space on a computer or server that stores your web page and database. We build all sites on our server platform: you can keep the hosting and ongoing maintenance with us, or move it elsewhere if you prefer.
  • A website build is a significant investment of time on our part, and we ask for partial payment before starting the work. This is usually 50%, with the balance paid on completion (or after 12 weeks if the project is delayed by you) but in some cases we may be able to make other arrangements.
  • We equally recognise that a website is a significant financial investment for you, and we are happy to explore some element of flexibility if needed.
